Update July 23, 2008

Repairs are beginning at Como Falls Park. Yaggy Colby Engineering has

been contracted.

A survey of the Park has been completed. Anyone wishing to

donate toward the purchase

 of landscaping efforts, trees, etc. please contact the Admin Office.

The Legion Ball Field and Veterans Park repairs are complete.

 Update July 16, 2008

FEMA was in Hokah yesterday discussing the recent damage the

City of Hokah experienced June 8th. 2008. The City will be assisting

FEMA in accessing the

 monetary damages once again.

 

Update June 2, 2008:

The City of Hokah is currently in the process of repairing flood

damages across the city.

The Legion Ball Field is nearing completion, as is the

Veterans Park.

Future projects are Como Falls, CTH 18 / Fremont Street, Water Reservoir road,

Como Ave. and others.

Please be patient as we attempt to restore our City. Any questions or

And the rains came, and came.....

On August 18 and 19, 2007, The City of Hokah sustained 15.1 inches of rain in a twenty

four hour period.

 

Until seeing it for yourself, it is truly impossible to imagine the devastation this unexpected,

powerful act of nature did to the

 southeastern Minnesota region. The absolutely serene Como Falls Park with its unique waterfall

and striking landscaping done totally

by volunteers has divided the meandering creek in half and is now matted down with trees and debris.
